Bourne Training has launched a competence assessment tool for the Institute of Financial Services (ifs) to enable insurance advisers to prepare for life after Insurance Day on 14 January 2005. The ifs provides the industry-leading Certificate in Regulated General Insurance (CeRGI) qualification for mortgage practitioners, and the assessment tool will provide a simple revision aid for staff in up to 14,000 firms who have already applied to the FSA for authorisation.
This is the third in the series of competence assessment tools developed by Bourne, following launch of the Financial Advisors Regulatory Support Tool and a competence assessment tool for Mortgage Advisors.
Users can test their current knowledge by topic area and then attempt a mock exam which utilises a shadow bank of questions linked to the examination questions. Answers are displayed with hyperlinks back into the relevant area of the study manual to facilitate quick and easy revision.
The assessment tool is also expected to be used by insurance practitioners following Insurance Day to provide proof of ongoing competence required by the FSA. It is part of a suite of products developed by Bourne for the ifs to enable organisations to prove the professional competence of their staff.
